Mushroom Pin Cushions!

So a few weeks ago I had a major scare in the Mossytoadstool family- My dog chewed up my pin cushion!! Thankfully there were no pins in it (I only keep them in when I am doing a project) but I am now out of a place to put my pins!

I've been dying to make these anyway, so this was the perfect moment!

Through the brush

Finally am underway on my next Faeline. Had to get copper piping to finish up the legs. I really hope I still have all my materials in an easy access, otherwise I will have to go treasure hunting in the garage lol.

Forest themed. I want to add a bunch of interesting things into the moss but I want to see what I have on hand first :D I have the fur ready, so not much waiting after this >:D SO excited! Also I will incorporate better follow me eyes in this one.

Quick design look (from previous)

excuse the gritty-ness of the photo- was taken with my 3DS XD

Just to show my design process. I first make a small list of elements used, and make a quick sketch and use colors to decide what I want and where. I try to have fur already in mind so its easier to try and track down what to buy. This one is a rather good example- the grey for the underbelly I couldnt find the right length for, so I dyed a white fur I had already to that color using Acrylics. I might post a tutorial about it but I'm sure in the meantime you can just google how X3.

When it comes to painting the face I constantly change my mind on what I want til I get to the actual painting process. Adding elements like gems and symbols tend to happen at this stage more often then on paper. Also what beads and gems I have on hand sometimes work their way in better then ones that I think up.

Anyone interested in designs before the finish doll? I think I might do that...

Each creation is only made once. I can incorporate pieces into the Faelin you want (Like colors or themes, small things) but I will not do duplicates. This guarantees a one of a kind (OOAK) original, only for you.

Setting up what color and style you want to see your Faelin in. You can	I must receive a down payment of half before I start. This way I know I can start creating and not be left high and dry.	Construction of the Faelin begins. I will send you progress pictures if	The Faelin is finished and final payment must be sent before I ship.

Things to consider: Do,you want a CUSTOM Sculpted face? (takes longer) Or a Resin one? (check,the gallery for samples, it is quicker, and cuts part of the price)

FAQ

Why is your work so expensive?

They are all hand crafted. About 90% of my creations are hand stitched, only using a Sewing Machine when doing repeated 'socks' or tails. Its very time consuming and sometimes takes a week or even up to a month sometimes to complete, spending a few hours on them in between taking care of my mother. I work as a Live-In-Aide for my mom and my creations are like a second full time job. You won't find this quality in Mass produced items. I use quality materials. I make sure the fur I use is the best in quality. This also goes for Jewels, Wire, and any accessories made with them. One of a Kind items that are made Just for you are often needed to be made with new patterns and sculpts. This insures that your item is specifically for you, and no one else has one like it!

You say you come from a smoking home....?

Yes. I live with my mother to help her, she has degenerative spine and rheumatoid arthritis. She is a smoker, and can't leave the house to smoke outside. I try my hardest to let it air out and febreeze it before I ship it out to you, but if you have an allergy to cigarette smoke please be aware.

Should I buy this for my child?

My direct answer will always be no. These dolls have small parts that can easily tear off that your child may choke on or harm themselves with. However- every child is different. My 2 year old nephew takes better care of his tablet then his mother (sorry sis!) so your child may do better with it then others. So please take in consider how your child is before purchasing.

How Sturdy are these dolls?

I try my hardest to make sure these dolls will last with age. However since they are handmade they are still delicate. Please take care of the faces, as even though I coat them in a protective sealer, scratching can occur. Please do not pull on whiskers or antennae- as they can possibly dislodge. The bodies have metal wire armature, and excessive posing may weaken the wire over the years. Surface wash only.
