Forest Spirit (Personal Collection)

Took me waay too long to post the pictures of this one- Sorry! Just click on the image to make it larger.

This is my biggest Faeline yet- About the size of a real Maine Coon cat. Real Moss was used for the back, three different kinds. The Snail, Mushrooms, and ladybugs were hand sculpted by me. The wings are Plastic sheet and fantasy film.

The inner structure is made in a way were it only bends at where the joints would be in a  real cat. So there are more realistic poses it can do. These pictures don't do it justice.

Behind the veil of life, beyond the look of eyes

Been working on eyes for a new Faeline. I wanted a 'follow-me' style but soon figured out it makes you rather uneasy...

What I'm going for was a golden look but for some reason I kept making it look like fire (I was adding too much red....silly me). Quite the opposite of what I need lol. So I went for a more toned down look and got the result I needed!

This is a quick preview of what is to come :D The resin I have in it will change since this one has too many bubbles. Also it will be domed just a little more.
So excited about this one :D

Furry Face!

Just furred my first Poseable Doll Face!! The base was sculpted by me (the bottom one shows the inside!) So NO this is not from a real cat! I glued the fur on piece by piece- I think this tester needs a body!

I might take off the colorful parts- I mainly used them to play with layering. Next time I might apoxie the nose a little bit to bring it out more. I still need practice on furring, but if anyone is interested this is the way I did it:

I used Aleene's Tacky Glue- worked quite well! Dried clear and after tugging on the fur a little it holds up quite well! I will more then likely use this method with my kittens more often then my larger ones. This one was just a head I had lying around that I played with paint on.

Long time No post

No pictures this time- I will next time.

Finished sculpting the new adult faeline head. Man these guys are gonna be huge :3 I also finished sculpting the kittens!

When I start my mold making I'll document it. Something always goes wrong when I do, so if I don't document it just expect that something went horribly wrong lol.

I believe I found my new resin I will be using- Which makes me happy! I just hope its all everyone says it is.

I will also be making the eyes to them- I cant find anything premade that's in my price range and I also cant find anything for a DIY thing thats the right size. So making it myself will be the way to go.

Worm has evolved into Pupae!

Finished padding my faeline into its 'Pupae' stage. Possible adding later on. So far I'm happy with the 'worm' stage, there are a lot of additions compared to my first one. There are still measuring for anatomy I'm working on, however while keeping it a little off to give it a fantasy feeling.

My dog for comparison (she's a Lhasa-poo). From the size they will be about maine coone sized. I will be making a new faceplate for this one since my last one seemed to small, and the size adjustment on the body I know for a fact will be too small. However I will be sculpting the face after I fur the body. This way I wont have the problem as I did for the last one, which looked fine before furring, but adding the fur made the body bigger, resulting in a smaller face.

Follow Me Eyes Test

If anyone is interested I could make a tutorial on it. However I have not sealed this- I haven't tested any sealers yet so I wouldn't know what would work best (just yet)

I will be making this as an option since I know it creeps some people out ^^ But this style will be used in my next piece.

Through the brush

Finally am underway on my next Faeline. Had to get copper piping to finish up the legs. I really hope I still have all my materials in an easy access, otherwise I will have to go treasure hunting in the garage lol.

Forest themed. I want to add a bunch of interesting things into the moss but I want to see what I have on hand first :D I have the fur ready, so not much waiting after this >:D SO excited! Also I will incorporate better follow me eyes in this one.

Quick design look (from previous)

excuse the gritty-ness of the photo- was taken with my 3DS XD

Just to show my design process. I first make a small list of elements used, and make a quick sketch and use colors to decide what I want and where. I try to have fur already in mind so its easier to try and track down what to buy. This one is a rather good example- the grey for the underbelly I couldnt find the right length for, so I dyed a white fur I had already to that color using Acrylics. I might post a tutorial about it but I'm sure in the meantime you can just google how X3.

When it comes to painting the face I constantly change my mind on what I want til I get to the actual painting process. Adding elements like gems and symbols tend to happen at this stage more often then on paper. Also what beads and gems I have on hand sometimes work their way in better then ones that I think up.

Anyone interested in designs before the finish doll? I think I might do that...

Commission Faeline- Galaxy

This faeline was commissioned by Eviecats. She said she like the colors blue, purple, silver and black- and this popped into my head :)

The head was sculpted then molded for lighter weight resin. The grey fur was hand dyed. Wire armature. I really love how this one came out :)
